Each Easter in San Miguel several reenactments of the crucifixion are staged. This photo was shot in the small community of San Louis Rey during their staging of the crucifixion. More than 1000 community members participate in the reenactment. Here, Jesus carries his own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.
